FEEDING CHILDREN & EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES
Our goal is to provide free food, resources and education to our local indigenous communities of San Pedro Itzícan and Mezcala in Jalisco, Mexico to rebuild resilience and self-reliance.
Project Highlights
The flagship project of CreSer - Currently providing food to 500+ kids a day across 5 different kitchens throughout San Pedro Itzícan and Mezcala.
The program provides weekly food packages (despensas) to 90 families with a family member(s) on kidney dialysis as well as the elderly and less abled.
Every week we lead a kids program that concentrates on topics that deal with emotional resilience and our relationship to the Earth. Most of these classes are held by China and José Maria with the occasional special visit from musicians and other volunteers.
We offer a free weekly class in San Pedro Itzícan, focusing on a different topic each week. These include permaculture lessons to teach locals sustainable organic food-growing techniques, as well as sessions on cooking, nutrition, economic skills, women’s empowerment and arts and crafts! Our goal is to provide practical, sustainable knowledge that enhances the community’s health, well-being, and self-sufficiency.
